Management Team
Mark Simmons
President and Founder
Mark received his Journeyman ticket in 1998 and became president and founder of Spider Electric in 2002. He has experience working in for an industrial oil and gas company for over seven years, working his way from first-year apprentice to Project Manager.
Mark and his wife Lisa started Spider Electric in 2002 in a spare bedroom of their house, and have since built the business to success, employing approximately one-hundred tradesmen and serving clients in the oil and gas, commercial, and infrastructure sectors for over two decades.
Mark enjoys spending time with his family and friends. In his free time, you can find him drag racing or at the golf course.
Kyle Haland
Managing Partner
Kyle graduated with an Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma in 2003, received his Journeyman Electrician ticket in 2006, and became a Master Electrician in 2013. Kyle has over 19 years of experience in all fields of the Electrical industry. Since beginning at Spider Electric, he has taken roles as Supervisor, Project Manager, Estimator, and Designer. Currently, he handles tasks in all of the above fields. Kyle is very familiar with Construction, Maintenance, Controls, and Commissioning.
Kyle’s experience varies from Oil & Gas, Industrial, Commercial, Water and Sewer, Construction, and maintenance. Kyle also has a wide spectrum of Safety training that brings excellence to a project.
Justin Young
Managing Partner
Justin received his Journeyman Electrician ticket from Medicine Hat College in 2010. He also holds an Alberta Red Seal Certification.
Justin’s role at Spider Electric involves design, estimating, and management of electrical projects in the assisted living and commercial industries. He works diligently with other construction managers to maintain project schedules and budgets. Justin has been trained in various areas of construction leadership and safety. He is actively involved in the daily scheduling of projects and manpower.
Adam Martin
P. Eng., Senior Electrical Engineer
Adam was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He attended U of A for engineering and graduated in 2007 with a BSc in Electrical Engineering. Adam spent two years working in the oilfield, followed by five years working in water and wastewater as Electrical Engineer and Programmer at a local engineering firm. He started working with Spider Electric in 2015 and holds a professional engineering designation in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Stacy Crook
Calgary Manager
Stacy started his electrical career in 1999, receiving his master’s certificate in 2011 along with PEC certification in 2014. Stacy has experience primarily in large-scale commercial projects and has worked on some of the largest in Calgary from hospitals to office towers.
Stacy manages the Calgary branch and helps with estimating, project management, and procurement. In his spare time, Stacy likes to spend time at the lake with family and friends.
Brad Paschinski
Manitoba and Saskatchewan District Manager
Brad is Spider Electric’s District Manager for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He has over 20 years of experience as an Instrumentation Engineering Tech and Manager. He has a focus in the Oil and Gas, Food and manufacturing, and Water and wastewater industries.
Aron Moebis
Managing Supervisor
Aron received his journeyman/Red seal ticket in 2013. He has over 15 Years of experience at Spider Electric Ltd. Currently, he acts as Managing Supervisor with extensive experience in electrical and instrumentation construction, in addition to maintenance and supervision in commercial, industrial, oil & gas, and chemical production facilities. He also has experience in project estimating, procurement, planning, coordinating, and site supervision. Aron prides himself on his strong values and continuous dedication to safety, leadership, accountability, and positive customer relations and solutions.
Kendra Maffenbeier
Safety Coordinator
Kendra got her start as a Safety Professional in 2011. Since then, she has obtained her certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Alberta (with distinction), and National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation. Kendra also obtained her designation as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) in 2018.
